Ubisoft is adding Vikings to its new Assassin Creed series. The game’s first trailer offers a cinematic look at the game, coming this holiday, and its “heartless, godless barbarians. Ubisoft has also revealed that the game will be among the first released on next-generation consoles.
As the leader of a Viking clan, you will clash with the Saxons as the Norse warriors attempt to settle in England. Valhalla starts in the year 873 in England, as the Viking clan at the centre of the story head from Norway to England to seek a new life. Expect plenty of battles between the Vikings and Saxons.
The cinematic trailer includes King Alfred the Great. This real historical figure became King of Wessex in 871 and then King of the Anglo-Saxons in around 886, sending his soldiers into battle against the Vikings.

You'll play as Eivor, a warrior and Viking clan leader. While not shown in the trailer, you will be able to choose which version of Eivor you want to play, male or female. The game is expected for launch for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Stadia, as well as Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
