Games you can play on laptops and low-end/Spec PCs 2020
I used to view the idea of gaming on a laptop as a virtual contradiction in terms, at least for anyone who didn’t want to invest in a so-called ‘desktop replacement.’ Over the last decade, I have seen a lot more laptops shipping with integrated graphics that are capable of at least some light gaming and a proliferation of indie titles with less aggressive requirements. Put the two together, and you’ve got a lot more options for low-end gaming today than 10-20 years ago.
I have carefully crafted this list of top games from the last two decades that you can play even with laptops with 2-4 GB ram and even without a discreet Graphics Card.
DmC: Devil May Cry
DmC: Devil May Cry is a reboot disconnected from the continuity of the classic series while exploring similar themes. It starts at the beginning of Dante’s exploits as a demon hunter, and depicts his growth into a figure similar to his classic counterpart. For me It's a fun game where you have plenty of options and combos to kill demons.
Batman: Arkham City
Arkham City feels as though it genuinely captures what it would be like to “be” Batman, with a clever twist on why you face a never-ending army of thugs. If you want to find out if you’re going to like the Arkham game series, I’d say this is the best one to try. If you need something even gentler on system specs, try the original Arkham Asylum
One of the latest gaming titles which work well on legacy computers is Fifa 14. It is yet another great game to play and is not a big system hog. You can play Fifa 14 on most old laptops and PCs.
The minimum game requirements for Fifa 14 is 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo processor and only 2 GB RAM if you have an old graphics card like GT620m or GT 630m still you will be able to run the game on your aging laptop.
Assassin’s Creed 1,2, Brotherhood and Revalations
The first game was released in the year 2007 and was developed by Ubisoft and has been an incredibly successful series and was based on a new concept and gameplay that was ever seen before 2007.
It is a historical action-adventure stealth game. The Assassin’s Creed games primarily revolve around the rivalry between two ancient secret societies: the Assassins and the Knight Templar. The game has missions to clear, and the main character is Desmond Miles the player require to complete an assassination of public figureheads or covert missions as the game progresses.
Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005
The Game was released in the year 2005 November. The fans of the Need for Speed were bored after the release of Need for Speed Carbon which offered nothing new compared to underground series. Most Wanted 2005 had the best cops chase hurdles and gameplay. The game was different from what the fans had experienced in the earlier generation of games and was a massive success.
GTA Vice City
The game was so addictive that people use to play it for days and nights immersed in the Vice City. The Gamer’s first time had such a massive open-world game where they can do whatever they wanted. The game was coded lightly, and you can play it with a basic graphics card and processor.
The game has small missions and a great story along with hundreds of options to explore in the vice city. The game was released on October 27, 2002. The game size is around 1.5 GB and can be easily downloaded.
GTA San Andreas
GTA San Andreas is still one of the most famous open-world games and is downloaded thousands of times by PC Gamers. It had better graphics and a colossal open world to explore than what we saw in the GTA Vice City.
The game size is 2.0 GB and is priced very low now if you wish to purchase the original game. The game is one of the most fun games to play, and several mods have been released since its release including the infamous Hot Coffee mod with all the adult content.
Counter-Strike Global Offensive :
The game has much better graphics compared to the earlier versions, and you may need a slightly better PC or laptop to run this game. It will be playing better on a GT 630 or GT 640 or later version of the graphics card and a Laptop Equivalent.
The game might have been developed in 2005, but it has stunning graphics and is coded very well and easily playable on most PC or Laptops with a Core i3 or Core 2 Duo. It is an excellent first-person shooter with a little strategy and major brute force to achieve the objectives set in the game.
Call of Duty 4 modern warfare
This is the 4th Game in the call of Duty series and was released in the year 2007, November 7. The game was very successful and sold more than 11 million copies.
The game is based on the conflict between Russia and the US and the story takes place in the year 2011, where an eccentric leader has executed the president of an unnamed country in the Middle East and starts a civil war in Russia. The single-player and multiplayer modes of the game offer good, interesting gameplay.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
This was the 8th Game in the Call of Duty Series. The game continues with the fictional battle between the US and Russia. The game was released in the year 2009 and was a highly rated game and had a score of 94% on meta critic. Each mission comprises of a set of objectives which are given at the start of the mission and has to be achieved as progress is made in the game.
Borderlands is a classic loot-driven open-world shooter that you can play with up to three friends. While some of the humor has aged poorly, it’s still a rush to tear down a boss and see what goodies it has left behind.
Far Cry 3
Far Cry 3 is an open world first-person shooter set on an island unlike any other. A place where armed warloads traffic in slaves. Where outsiders are hunted for ransom. And as you embark on a desperate quesr to rescue your friends, you realize that the only way to escape this darkness is to embrace it.
Stay tuned for more.
